Learning Update - Tuesday 21st January

21 January 2025 (by admin)

Details of our attendance champions last week and information about keeping children safe online.

Attendance

Well done to 1G who were our attendance champions last week (week beginning 13th January) with amazing 100% attendance. This is the second time they have achieved this since September.

Overall our school attendance figure edged up last week to 96.8% - thank you for your support with this - we are aiming for 97% this week!

Attending school everyday where possible is essential for pupils to get the most out of their school experience, including their attainment, wellbeing, and wider life chances.

There are of course times when pupils are unwell and cannot be in school - all children get ill - these absences are unavoidable but if you are in any doubt whether your child is fit for school please contact the school office and they will do their best to advise.

Staying Safe Online

We would urge all parents to closely monitor the sites their child is accessing online and to be wary of them seeing and hearing content which is inappropriate.

We will again this year be taking part in Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 11th February as part of our ongoing work educating children how to stay safe online

Safer Internet Day is the UK’s biggest celebration of online safety.

Each year there is a theme that speaks about the things young people are seeing and experiencing online.

This year's theme is: 'Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online.'

We will mark this day with a special assembly and classroom activities.

Minor Changes to the School Day

Our survey regarding the proposal regarding the school day closes this Friday 24th January at 3.30pm. Thank you to everyone who has already shared their views.
